Movember, Macmillan and Mental Health Awareness – We’ve Been Busy!

We’ve been very busy recently getting involved in lots of wellness and charitable initiatives.

Firstly, Movember is here and we’re encouraging our staff to join us for the hairiest month of the year as we raise funds for men’s health. By participating in the event, we hope to raise funds that will power groundbreaking projects related to mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

We plan to grow moustaches as a symbol of our support for this cause and to join millions of people around the world who are striving to improve the health and well-being of men everywhere.

On Wednesday 20th September, we also hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning. This is the charity’s biggest fundraising event and they encourage people across the UK to host their own coffee morning, with donations raised helping many living with cancer to live life as fully as they can.

The money goes towards funding Macmillan’s services including the Macmillan nurses, answering calls on their Support Line and giving financial support to families.

During the event, we organised an internal competition where participants had to guess the number of Chocolate Caterpillar faces on the Macmillian poster. Phil Silva, our Finance Director, emerged as the winner (he is clearly good with numbers!) We were able to raise over £100.

Then on Monday 9th October, we invited Maria Palmer, mental health expert, to speak to our team for World Mental Health Awareness Day. She shared ways to support and manage mental health awareness, which we found incredibly invaluable.

We’re always looking at ways that we can support good causes, bring our team together and help support their health and wellbeing.
