Our Non-Executive Director Vince Pearson recently hosted a charity golf team day, all in aid of supporting disadvantaged young people through the Sail 4 Recovery initiative.
Set up by Vince, Sail 4 Recovery is this year raising funds for the Norfolk Community Foundation charity to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people in Norfolk to participate in a sailing experience, to help improve wellbeing, confidence and the resilience of the young people.
The golf team day took place at Barnham Broom Golf and Country Club on Friday 1st September. It saw 72 golfers take part, making up 18 teams of four players. The event raised over £10,000, bringing the overall total raised by Sail 4 Recovery to over £21,000; an incredible accomplishment.
Previous fundraising initiatives under the banner of Sail 4 Recovery saw Vince embark on two legs of the Clipper Round the World yacht race in April 2022, sailing on a 70-foot racing yacht taking in Seattle, Bermuda, New York and London. Last year’s fundraising was for the Sir Norman Lamb Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, which is managed by the Norfolk Community Foundation, and also hospitality industry charity Springboard.
