Tim Cookson Appointed to the Institute of Hospitality

Our Chairman, Tim Cookson has been appointed to the Supervisory Board of the Institute of Hospitality (IoH).

The IoH is the professional body for managers and aspiring managers working and studying in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry. They have members working in every sector of the industry and in over 100 countries around the world. The primary purpose of the IoH is to promote professionalism through lifelong learning and help all members reach their full potential in their career.

Tim has a wealth of experience within the hospitality and catering sector, starting his early career as a chef working in the Merchant Navy and at Oxford University College before rising through the ranks to become Managing Director and shareholder at a family-run business that was later sold to Sutcliffe Catering Services.

Since then, he held many plc board positions within major hospitality organisations, including Marriott, Sodexo and Compass and during his career has established many successful companies, all of which have focused on the provision of foodservices or support services for caterers.

He is now Chairman at Litmus, helping to firmly establish us as the number one hospitality and facilities management consultancy in the UK.

Tim served as a non-executive director at the Royal Society of Medicine for five years and as Governor of Leeds Thomas Danby College for four years. He is also a founder patron of The Professional Association for Catering Education (PACE).

We’re very proud to see Tim secure this new accolade – we can’t think of a better man for the role.

Well done Tim!
