Litmus Takes Part in a Conservation Day

We’re on a mission to continue minimising our impact on the environment and so yesterday we took part in a staff conservation day.

As part of our eco-efforts, we partnered with Make It Wild earlier this year and purchased a section of land where we offset our carbon footprint by planting trees and regenerating the nature reserve.

Yesterday, a team of us took part in various tasks including some weeding around young trees, ground preparation and wildflower seed patch planting. Not only does this get our staff actively involved in our sustainability efforts, but is a great team-building exercise too.

This is one of many steps we’ve taken to minimise our environmental impact. At the end of 2023 we achieved Carbon Net Zero at our Head Office in Camberley, we successfully achieved ISO14001 accreditation in early 2021 (and have sustained it each year since), we’ve driven down hard copy printing for our internal operations and client-facing services and increased the energy efficiency in our head office.

As of December 2023, we offset 40 tonnes of CO2e through planting trees with Make it Wild. Not only can we offset the remainder of our very low levels of carbon footprint, but our partnership means we can also make a positive difference to the environment. The trees planted will not only absorb carbon and produce oxygen, they will also support insects, birds and small mammals; contributing to the biodiversity of the area.

We look forward to more eco-friendly initiatives throughout the year.
