John Brownless hosts charity golf days in 2021 for Prostate Cancer UK

John Brownless, Partner at LitmusFM – a division of Litmus Partnership – is hosting a series of golf days this year, with the aim of raising £25k for Prostate Cancer UK.

A prostate cancer survivor himself, John still suffers from the side effects and is dedicated to helping raise vital funds and awareness for the charity. He has raised around £50k to date, through his various fundraising endeavours in previous years, and aims to make this £75k by the end of 2021.

Recent stats show that urgent referrals by GPs in England have dropped by over 52,000 over the pandemic, so it’s more important than ever to shine a light on the signs and symptoms of prostate cancer. John has dedicated years of his life to helping educate men and the golf days have led to many going to be tested and diagnosed.

The first charity golf day of the year is taking place at Vistabella golf course, Alicante, Spain, on 3rd July where John will be helping organise and support from the UK due to Covid travel restrictions.

Later in the year will see the main Prostate Cancer UK annual golf day take place at The Shipley Golf Club, West Yorkshire, on 10th September. John arranged the first ever annual golf day six years ago and it has grown to be an event which hundreds of people attend. This year John will be supported by professional golfer and Prostate Cancer UK Ambassador Danny Willett, the 2016 Masters Tournament winner, who is classed as one of the top 100 golfers in the world.

Following this, there is then a final golf day on 20th November, which is also taking place in Spain.
