Update: Vince’s Clipper Race Challenge

As you know, our Non-Executive Director Vince Pearson is currently taking part in the renowned Clipper Race, all with the aim of raising funds for two charities.

The Clipper Race is a biennial race that takes amateur crews on one or more legs of a circumnavigation of the globe, led by professional skippers.

Vince is taking part in the final two legs of the race (leg 7 and leg 8) and started his voyage on 29th April, sailing on ‘Imagine Your Korea’, one of the 11 identical seventy-foot-long racing boats.

His team are currently in eighth place and has been racing to various cities including Panama and Bermuda. He has around six weeks left until they finally finish at the end of July in London.

Vince is raising money for two charities – hospitality industry charity Springboard, which supports unemployed people to improve their skills and job prospects and also Norfolk Community Foundation, which supports youth mental health in the Norfolk area, which is where Vince is from. He aims to raise a total of £15,000, which will be an incredible achievement.

For anyone who would like to donate money, which all goes straight to the charities, you can do so here: www.justgiving.com/campaign/Sail4Recovery

Keep going Vince!
