Litmus in the news July 19

We’ve been speaking with some of the healthcare industry’s leading media titles regarding the long standing topic of hospital food.

Over the past 25 years, we’ve worked with many NHS Trusts including The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

We understand the complex challenges many Trusts face when it comes to catering.  Within any hospital building you are faced with arguably the most diverse and complicated dietary requirements to cater for than any other establishment. From young children and adults with varying levels of medical needs, the elderly (many of whom may be battling with dementia or dysphagia), pregnant women – there is so much to consider.

With reports showing a wide disparity in what different NHS Trusts spend on patient food, Nigel Forbes, Managing Partner here at Litmus, has been discussing how rationalising data is key to understanding these differences, the various challenges Trusts face in providing catering and the benefits improving efficiencies can bring.

Nigel’s thoughts are featured in the most recent issue of Hospital Food & Service magazine. You can read the double page spread by clicking on the link below, and going to pages 48-49:
