Litmus celebrates women in the workplace: International Women’s Day 2025

March 8th marks International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, a global celebration of the achievements of women and a powerful call to action for gender equality.

This year’s theme, ‘Accelerate Action,’ highlights the urgency of driving meaningful change. At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158 – roughly five generations from now – to achieve full gender parity, according to the World Economic Forum. We must act now to create opportunities and break down barriers for women in all industries.

At Litmus, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace where women can thrive. Over the past two years, we have increased the number of women employed by 55%. We have a growing number of women holding senior positions at our Head Office including Lael Panter, HR and Business Support Manager, and Katie Lashbrook, Senior Business Growth Executive.

Both Rachel Flynn, Head of Marketing and Communications, and Candice Finn, Managing Director – who was appointed last year after serving as Commercial Development Director – sit on the Senior Leadership Team and Candice is also on the Board.

Many other women have played a key role in shaping our business for years, such as Katie Foster, who has been with Litmus for over 17 years, developing her skills and seizing new opportunities, and is now Head of Business Growth.

Candice Finn, an advocate for supporting women into leadership and a mother of two young daughters, shared:

“This year’s International Women’s Day theme, ‘Accelerating Action,’ is a call to do more than just talk about gender equality – we must drive real, measurable change. As a female leader, I am passionate about creating environments where women can thrive, succeed, and lead with confidence.

“At Litmus, we recognise that progress starts with recruiting, retaining, and developing diverse talent. It’s not just about opening doors for women – it’s about ensuring they have the support, mentorship, and opportunities to grow into leadership roles. This isn’t just important for women; it’s important for all of our team, regardless of their background or gender. Businesses that embrace diversity don’t just perform better; they foster innovation, resilience, and long-term success.

“We also have a collective responsibility to support women and girls into leadership, decision-making, and business. Representation matters. When women see others leading the way, they know it’s possible for them too. That’s why we must champion initiatives that provide mentorship, skills development, and clear pathways to leadership.

“True progress happens when we actively break down barriers, challenge biases, and create workplaces where every woman has the chance to succeed. Together, we can accelerate change and build a future where equality isn’t just an aspiration – it’s a reality.”

At Litmus, we celebrate the achievements of the women in our workplace – not just today, but every day. We remain committed to fostering an environment where everyone is empowered, supported, and given every opportunity to succeed.

Happy International Women’s Day!
