Helping higher education get ready for re-occupancy

As rules on the lockdown are starting to relax, we’ve had a number of higher education establishments reach out to us for guidance on how to best prepare their facilities for re-occupancy.

To help get ready, John Brownless and Nigel Forbes – both Partners here at Litmus – are hosting a Q&A for the College and University Business Officers (CUBO) this coming Thursday at 11.00.

The session will cover what establishments need to seek to do prior to re-occupancy, including:

  • Ensuring buildings remain in good order, accommodating and fit to provide a suitable, safe environment;
  • Dealing with building failures that may have occurred promptly and effectively;
  • Managing and procuring maintenance works and selected service providers efficiently; and
  • Planning how to re-instate premises and assets in readiness for occupancy.

Both John and Nigel will also look into how higher education establishments can ascertain from their community any concerns they may have about returning post-pandemic. Gaining insights into staff and students’ personal expectations of life after lockdown will be useful in identifying any specific worries they may have in respect of their wellbeing and allow measures to be put in place that will reassure everyone.

The Q&A session is open to all CUBO members to join.
