Litmus in the news

August 5, 2026

We’ve been busy speaking with the media and contributing to various articles over the past few months.

Here is a snapshot:

  • We recently announced the pilot of our new Consumer Insight (CI) programme designed specifically for special schools, marking it as the first initiative of its kind in the sector. Recognising that traditional written surveys aren’t always the most effective way to capture feedback from pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), communication needs or additional needs, our new approach takes a more inclusive and engaging route by using accessible visual communication instead of words to gather feedback about the school catering experience. The news awas included on Public Sector Catering website here and also on the daily enewsletter.
  • Our Consultancy Director Joe Parfitt contributed a full-page op-ed in Academy Trusts Today magazine, summer issue. In a challenging economic climate, Joe talks about how MATs can achieve financial resilience through strategies, practical opportunities, evolving current operations and taking a joined-up approach. You can view the op-ed here.
  • Mark Kassapian, MD of Litmus Retail division, has been busy commenting on all things university catering. He featured in the June issue of TUCO magazine, in a ‘Street Food’ feature, talking about students’ growing interest in global flavours, popular products, street-food inspired drink options such as lassis and frescas, and the importance of listening to feedback by testing new ideas, running polls, and adapting the menu.

Mark’s comments were also included in TUCO magazine July issue, in a ‘Vending’ feature, where he talked about the move towards smart fridges and freezers, growing interest in equipment which can deliver hot food options and the fundamentals of ensuring vending is profitable.

You can read both TUCO features here and here.

Happy reading!
