International Women’s Day 2026: Reflections on leadership and ‘Give to Gain’

March 6, 2026

To mark International Women’s Day (Sunday 8 March), our Managing Director, Candice Finn, took over our LinkedIn channel for the week, sharing personal reflections on leadership, growth and what this year’s IWD theme, Give to Gain, means in practice.

Across five posts, Candice explored how leadership has evolved, the people who took chances on her, the women who shaped her journey, and how she continues to invest in her own development.

Here’s a snapshot of the series.

Leadership has evolved

Candice opened the week by reflecting on how leadership looked at the start of her career – often directive, hierarchical and focused on resilience at all costs. While that approach created tough, adaptable professionals, it also revealed its limits.

Today, effective leadership is human-led. The leaders who give time, trust and space to grow gain stronger teams, deeper loyalty and better outcomes. For Candice, Give to Gain is about taking what we’ve learned and choosing to lead better because of it.

When risk becomes opportunity

Some of the biggest gains in Candice’s career came from decisions that felt risky at the time.

She reflected on being trusted with a stretch role at Sodexo, where autonomy, mentorship and belief helped transform a career-defining risk into long-term success. That same trust followed when she joined The Litmus Partnership – stepping into her first board role and, two years later, becoming Managing Director.

In both cases, leaders chose to give first – turning risk into opportunity.

The women who shape us

Midweek focused on the women who played a pivotal role in Candice’s journey. During her time at Sodexo, she worked within a highly supportive, collaborative team of female leaders whose impact is clear in where they are today.

Those relationships continue to shape her leadership, reinforcing the importance of peer support, mentorship and shared growth. At Litmus, Candice is committed to paying that forward by creating space for others to step up and thrive.

Candice also shared how she continues to develop as a leader, having recently completed a leadership programme with Ivy House.

The programme reinforced three principles that guide her leadership today: self-knowledge, self-empowerment and self-mastery – all essential to building a culture where people feel supported, trusted and able to grow.

Paying it forward

The series closed with a reflection on what ‘Give to Gain’ really means: leadership that is collaborative, human and grounded in belief, investment and support.

This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to celebrate the women who lead, support and inspire – and to continue paying it forward for the next generation.
